We believe in keeping things simple. Just as we work to keep the design of your website uncluttered and easy to navigate, we construct our websites knowing that you will be taking over the bulk of the updating and maintenance when we’re done. We design and build our sites so that they’re easy to update, they can easily handle new capabilities, and any good programmer can easily work on them. A focus on user-friendliness, creative interface design, and efficient coding makes this possible.
User-friendliness is at the top of our list of priorities when designing a website, however complex it may be. This means that not only will the website be logically organized, easy to navigate, and graphically appealing, but it will also be easy for you to update. Several clients who have tried various content management systems and found them lacking have offered unsolicited praise for our work and have told us that updating their sites was much easier than they anticipated.
After extensive research and based on our and others’ experiences, we chose to work in MODX (pronounced “mod” like “modular” followed by “ex”), a modern CMS. There is nothing that can’t be done with MODX, and in far less time than with other systems. Unlike Drupal and Joomla, there are no design limitations whatsover, and it allows for much more rapid (and cost-effective) development. It has industrial-strength security, scales well for very large sites (thousands of pages, multilingual capability), has sophisticated page-caching to speed up page display, makes it easy for us to plug in whatever database-driven functionality you need, and has too many other merits to list here. See our Why MODX? page for more information.
After we supply a client with a finished site and offer our very brief web maintenance training, we often don’t hear from them for months (or years).
